History

Château Ferreyres, nestled in the charming village of Pujols in Gironde, is a place rich in history and tradition. Located just a few kilometers southeast of Saint-Émilion, it benefits from an exceptional terroir on the slopes of the Peyrouton locality. At the heart of the estate stands a two-century-old sequoia, a timeless symbol of Château Ferreyres and its commitment to nature. Since 2019, the property has been undergoing conversion to organic farming, reflecting its dedication to preserving the environment and respecting biodiversity.

The Vineyard

The vineyard of Château Ferreyres spans one hectare, exclusively dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc, the emblematic grape variety of Bordeaux’s great white wines. Planted on sunlit slopes, it benefits from clay-limestone soil enriched with flint outcrops. This terroir imparts a distinctive freshness and minerality to the grapes. Through meticulous and sustainable viticultural practices, the estate blends tradition and modernity, crafting wines with a strong personality.

Winemaking & Aging

The grapes are carefully harvested at their optimal ripeness, ensuring maximum aromatic expression. After a cold skin maceration for six hours, the juices are gently pressed. A one-week cold stabilization helps preserve the finest aromas before alcoholic fermentation reveals the full richness of Sauvignon Blanc. Aging on fine lees for four months in stainless steel tanks enhances complexity and roundness while maintaining the wine’s vibrancy and freshness.

Wine Character

Château Ferreyres Blanc captivates at first glance with its brilliant pale yellow color and green highlights. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of exotic fruits, citrus, and white flowers, offering subtle elegance. On the palate, the attack is lively and refreshing, marked by beautiful minerality and citrus flavors that extend into a saline finish. This wine harmoniously balances finesse and vibrancy, making it equally enjoyable as an aperitif or paired with refined dishes.
