History
Château La Croix Saint-Vincent embodies the heritage of Vignobles Leydet, a family-owned estate located on the prestigious lands of Pomerol. Since 1862, each generation has contributed to its legacy, passing down expertise rooted in respect for the terroir and the vine.
The Vineyard
Spanning 8.22 hectares, the vineyard is rooted in fine gravel and sandy soils, with an alios subsoil. The 38-year-old vines are planted at a density of 5,800 vines per hectare. The grape composition consists of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, resulting in an annual production of 18,000 bottles.
Winemaking & Aging
As with Château Leydet Valentin, the harvest is entirely manual, followed by a double sorting process. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and includes a cold pre-fermentation maceration, with a total maceration period of 4 to 6 weeks. Aging on lees lasts 11 to 15 months in French oak barrels, without racking.
Wine Character
This Pomerol captivates with its richness and finesse. Intense aromas of dark fruits and spices precede a dense palate, featuring harmonious tannins and a long finish, characteristic of the great wines of Pomerol.
